  • Met Steve while he was at Ft Harrison playing in the Army Band! Immediately we knew he was a loving, caring, and a special person! He had a great sense of humor!! He was the first baby sitter for our first child when she was only 1 month old ! I had to teach him how to change a diaper! Hilarious experience!! I new that we had to introduce him to my friend from nursing school! The rest is history and Steve and Kris fell in love and had a life full of love! Kris became the godmother of our daughter who Steve babysat. We will always have close ties!!!!!!! Steve , Rest In Peace!

    • So thankful for you and Tim introducing us! God’s plan was to put us in nursing school together and the guys in the same Army band! He had that figured out even before we were born! Love you

  • I am a CEF worker in Ireland and have fond memories of Steve coming to Kilchzimmer with Kris and teaching us about Good News Clubs and five day clubs. I went to the mission field in South America after that for a number of years with another mission.Carried those class notes all the way and referred to them often. May you as a family know Gods comfort and peace at this time.

  • I met Steve when he and Kris moved back to Chillicothe. They began attending Chillicothe Christian Church where I had also put down roots. Kris and I became best friends and I began to know this quiet man that always had a smile on his face and a good word to say about everyone. My husband and I went to our first mission trip with Steve and Kris. I saw how much admiration and love all the people on the trip had for this man.
He had a dry sense of humor, but would always crack me up when at the perfect time he’d say…..
    “Who knew?”
Steve brought many souls to the kingdom and is reaping his just reward. Untill we meet again in paradise Steve, save me a seat at the table.

  • We met Steve & Kris in Brazil. We came from the little island of Bonaire for the CMI. We knew Steve as a quiet & wise man. He and Kris modeled for us the walk in Christ.
Together with Bob Flaming we got the support of Steve to start the ministry of APEM on Aruba.
He is gone to be with the Father and left big shoes to fill in the Carribean region.
    Till we meet again!

  • Well, Steve has reached home and is now enjoying the glories of heaven. Wilma and I are thankful for the friendship we enjoyed in CEF. Steve had a tender heart with a great love for the children and the Saviour. We trust the love and grace of God will surround you Kris and the family in these days.

  • I give my heart condolence for my beloved brother Steve.
I had some good experiences with him as we served as the regional directors.
He always slimed at me and I liked his husky voice.
I learned a lot from him and especially the kind heart and gentleness.
May his legacy live on and flourish until the Lord returns.
My love goes to Kris and the remaining family. May God keep you in His merciful hand.
I am looking forward to meeting Steve again in our heavenly home.

  • You hosted us in England that I refer to our perfect family vacation! Our family was going so many different directions and we were all on the same schedule when we stayed with you in London!! I made Escalloped Corn Casserole yesterday for Anne, who now works as an OT in Kansas City, MO-that Kris made for us when we were there/first time we had it- and gave me the recipe. I know David knew Kris from when she was at Methodist. A treat to meet and see you at church before you left as 2nd career missionaries!!

  • We met Kris and Steve in an Alzheimer’s Group…I always thought of it as “Beginning Alzheimers”…in Peoria, IL and had lunch with them on several occasions. Steve was a sweet, kind, and gentle soul who touched us with his beliefs and commitment to God and to Kris. We are so sorry to hear of his passing, but know he is at peace with his Lord and Savior. We miss knowing he’s no longer with us.
